Interested in joining a volunteer organization that has members from the ages of 4 to 94?
Interested in meeting people within the Baker County area who share an interest in
exploring and preserving Oregon Trail and Baker County history?
Trail Tenders, Inc. might be the volunteer organization for YOU!
The primary function of the Trail Tenders "is to enhance the quality of educational and
recreational programs for the public within the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive
Center. It also provides goods, services and contributions beyond those provided by the
Bureau of Land Management." Trail Tenders also participates in several community-wide
projects that vary from serving lunch to our senior citizens at the Community Center,
helping an elementary school child polish his/her reading skills with the SMART reading
program, assisting with the District 1A/State 1A Basketball Tournaments, and participating
in special events within the community and at the Interpretive Center.
If you are interested in joining Trail Tenders, please fill out the application below. A Trail
Tenders Board Member will contact you and explain the volunteer opportunities at the
National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center! You will also be invited to a Trail Tender
general meeting held at the Baker County Library.
