Opportunity
Worksite:  National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center (NHOTIC). NHOTIC is located 5
miles east of Baker City, Oregon, on Highway 86. NHOTIC is administered through the
Bureau of Land Management, Vale District Office.

Purpose: Perform preventive maintenance and repair to wagons at the NHOTIC wagon
encampment.

Timeframe: Flexible – as needed.

Number of Volunteers Needed: No Limit

Specific Duties: Using specialized skills and knowledge, maintain historic wagons at the
Center. This may include repair and/or fabrication of parts.

Qualifications/Skills: Specialized knowledge and skill in the repair and maintenance of
historic covered wagons.

Training: NHOTIC will provide Center orientation; Volunteer Conduct, Rights and
Responsibilities; and Volunteer Safety.

Equipment: Tools and equipment may be provided by the Center.
