Trail Tenders, Incorporated is a non-profit 501c3 organization.
Members are all volunteers at the National Historic Oregon Trail
Interpretive Center. Trail Tenders is governed by a Board of Directors.
2011 Board is: President Mike Bainter, Vice-President Dave Noble,
Secretary Tonia Johnson, Treasurer Susan Kolb, Past President Carol
Bradford, and members at large Mabel Lee Conley, Jean Day, and
Jack Jacobsen.
The Board meets monthly the first Wednesday of each month, and the
General Membership meets the second Wednesday each month. In
addition, several committees work on special projects.
A Finance committee manages all fund raising and expenditures. A
Shop Committee works on operation of the Oregon Trail Shop.
Trail Menders is a Trail Tender committee of volunteers who love sewing, creating
historic replica costumes, quilting and quilt demonstrations for the public, and working
with the gift shop to create quilt kits to teach this historic craft. They generally meet the
second and fourth Saturday each month at 1:00 pm at the Interpretive Center.
Holiday Open House Committee works to plan this annual event.
The Highway Cleanup Committee meets twice a year to clean an "adopt-a-highway"
segment of Oregon Highway 86 that borders the Interpretive Center.
Dutch Oven cooks present workshops, demonstrations, and catered dinners cooked
outdoors using historic techniques and dutch ovens.
